We took the boat over on Sunday of Labor Day weekend and had a nice, late lunch. After swimming at the beach for a while, we were all ready to sit down and enjoy some food. Everything was satisfying and made as we liked it. While I don't remember what everyone else got, I had the shrimp, and ended up pulling off most of the heavy breading. My daughter thought that part was delicious though! LOL I really appreciated that the staff pointed out the family-friendly restrooms for us to take our potty-training son to - repeatedly ;)

We stopped here one evening with the boat. Easy boat parking for sure. Murray's is a classic neighborhood bar. Wait staff is very friendly and pleasant. There is plenty of room, some outdoor seating and a good size bar. Food was general bar food. Not to good but not to bad either. We had mozzarella sticks which were good. The spinach and artichoke dip was just ok. Burgers were average, white fish was better and the kids all had chicken fingers or Mac and cheese which was good for them. Very good beer selection. Overall this is a solid place.

Horrible management. 1/4 of the restaurant was VACANT and we waited one hour and 15 minutes to be seated. Before then, we were told it would be 60 minutes before we would be served our food. I get it if it was crazy busy season, but this is the end of August and there are a bunch of open tables!!

I hate to say this but our old stand-by needs to refresh! They've added more seating (which is fine) and the staff is awesome (which keeps us happy) but the menu is dreadful and tired. If it's changed at all in five years, maybe ten even, I haven't noticed. This place has a golden opportunity as the only "real restaurant" in EJ and it needs to bring people in from outside with something exciting as opposed to resting on its laurels knowing locals have no other closer choices. Boyne, Charlevoix & Central Lake are feeling closer & closer at supper time these days.

Our last visit was on 7/4/15 and we were turned away at quarter to six after coming off the lake as they were closing at six. I'd like to know what kind of idiots close a bar on the lake at six on a Saturday night, let alone a major holiday weekend. As we were turned away there were at least four other groups of boaters in the same situation. Other than their lack of effort to make money we've eaten here several times in the past and it was generally acceptable although quality and consistency have went down since the new owners took over within the last year. It's one of the only places in East Jordan to have a decent sit down dinner with drinks so they pretty much have the market cornered.

First of all, I have to say I would give the food a 5 star review. However, my husband and I experienced fairly poor service. Our waitress was slow to attend to us, didn't give us napkins or utensils, and when I asked for some, she forgot. I just rummaged through the restaurant for a table that had some and snatched 'em up. Don't get me wrong, the waitress was nice, probably just new. And the cheeseburger I got was fabulous (and I got it cooked well done due to being pregnant) ;) Highly recommend!

American style cuisine aka basic bar food. Burgers are above average, the reuben in my opinion is the best menu option, I believe it's corned beef soaked in some sort of apple cider. Good local craft beer selection also, tvs around the bar for sports too . Only complaints, they close early for a bar, I Would like too watch sports and have a beer or two but they close too early. Also, I've had "slow service" a few times but the servers always seemed slammed with large groups and no help so that falls on management or owners on staffing. Never had a rude server, always accommodating but just sometimes too many tables in their section. Great location though, worth a meal!

Always great food and drinks! Love to take the boat and sit out on the porch overlooking the lake. We eat here several times every season because their food is always great and always reliable.

Wonderful large chemical free Shrimp! The homemade batter is tempura in Nature; very light and delicious!! They be ordered without the batter too!

Really. Still just great, basic food. Outstanding patio with a nice selection of MI beer. Don't miss the burgers.

Going downhill quick. This place has always had overpriced but pretty good food and zero ambiance but it is conveniently located so we go. We have been going less and less though, because there are cheaper and better restaurants with a better atmosphere in Boyne City. We tried to eat at Murray's on a Thursday night a couple of weeks ago. It was seat yourself, so we sat down. There were probably 6 other tables with people at them and only one table had drinks. We waited 10-15 minutes. No one came by with a menu or took our drink order. A waiter walked right by us to take the food order of the only people in the place that had drinks and never acknowledged us on either trip past us. Other waitresses were standing around. None of the other tables were getting served. We left and went to the Zone. When Emily and Owen were there, it seemed like someone actually cared about the experience. It doesn't seem that way anymore. I don't intend to waste my time going back.

Food was ok, but service on a Friday afternoon for lunch was terrible. Took 55 minutes to get food. Glass has been empty for 10 minutes and not very friendly.

Have been going to Murray's for many years but a recent visit was very disappointing. A couple of our dinners were not served with the rest of our party, apparently the order had been put into the kitchen but not started. The meals weren't available until the rest of our party was finished eating. There was not a manager on duty and no one would take responsibility or seemed to care. Only after making our disappointment clearly known did they try to do anything to rectify the situation. Overall a disappointing experience for regular customers. I understand that the business is recently under new management and so it looks like Murray's may be going downhill.

Friends stopped in on a whim for a winter lunch. They were not impressed with the food. Fifteen bucks for a basic burger was a bit steep and the burger was unimpressive.

Great food and atmosphere overlooking the South Arm. Outdoor seating is a special treat. The owners are super nice and will occasionally stop by to say hi. Whenever we're in town, we always stop by. Try the quesadilla - it's one of my favorites.

After floating the Jordan River we asked the guides where they would go for a burger and cold beer. Unanimously, they suggested Murray's although I'm sure some were not old enough to legally drink. They hit the mark. Great burger, ice cold Oberon, and friendly service at the bar. If you're "up north" it's a great place to stop in for good bar food. They have a patio out back but we never ventured past the bar. Big screen TV's throughout with plenty of sports. I'll definitely be back.

Great place for a summer dinner on the outside patio. Wonderful white fish dinners but love the quesadilla's with sour cream and orange marmalade. Excellent nachos and burritos, too.
